The Shape of Things to Come

We're ripping it up, firing on all cylinders. Lots of live recordings are making their way to the surface. Also that Ronettes song... finally. FINALLY.

We tracked a "studio version" of Two Chicks at the Same Time but it was tame in comparison to how Chris plays it live. The original plan was a live album of all of our favorite songs so I've been obtaining soundboard recordings from Berlin, Tierneys, and Prototype 237.

Going through the live recordings is bittersweet. The drums, vocals, guitar are off the board but full disclosure, I'm redoing the bass. Some if it is for straight up accuracy, some of it is because I use a swollen pickle fuzz on stage without splitting my signal into a DI and it's unwieldy to remix.

This band is a whole different animal these days. I don't love having to play bass and sing live, but I do love that we sound prepared. I was so tremendously angry for a long time.

Instead of a new song every few weeks, I'm doing intermittent EPs. A studio track, some live tracks. Also I started doing standup comedy again... nothing crazy, open mic. Trying to find my rhythm. It's hard because they don't have a straight stand and when I hand hold a mic I'm cupping it like I'm gonna pull a Lorna Shore.
