Small Shoes

I'm officially entering my minimalist era. I'm sober, I've minimized my girth, debt, and stress to maximize my potential. Lot of exercise. I'm not as prolific without a five tequilas in the tank but my day to day life is a lot better.
Ultimately it's the people I surround myself with as much as it's my choices. Mad Jack is a force of energy, health and positivity. Chris doubles down on that, one of the most uplifting, positive guys I know. Chris filled our former drummers small shoes, swimmingly....
We tracked this out as a demo, completely lo-fi... kick, snare, overhead on the drums, one guitar track, bass, and a track with a few guitar leads. No stereo field. Mono, baby. Like the 50s. This is going to be the next single. Every six weeks we have to drop a single. The entire next album is going to be lo-fi, minimalist, crunchy because it's more fun that way.
Ultimately, after taking meetings with people affiliated with WMG and Sony Orchard, I don't think I give a shit about signing a record deal. I definitely don't give a shit about being a rock star. I enjoy singing my intrusive thoughts over pleasant chords. I'm not splitting the atom here, there's no real surprises in my arrangements. We have a good time.

So full disclosure, My drummer's wife Anne and his kids are my focus group. I record demos on my acoustic, I send em to my drummer, he tortures his family with them on car rides, and whichever song they like the most is usually the one we end up recording next.
Funny which songs kids like, they tend to be the tunes drenched in double entendre... they're only getting a single entendre from it right now, thank God.
