That's a quote from one of the workers there. It felt demeaning at the time but they realized I was putting my best foot forward. From barely cared to almost cured.

One cool thing is that you can pick your meals based off of a menu, circle your choices, it'll be 75% correct. Being that 90% of the days in my life I eat sushi, I scrawled FISH across the top of my menus. They grilled me up a nice piece of salmon for lunch and dinner, because it's what I liked to eat. It was okay, even though I had to use a fork and knife and it wasn't raw. Eventually I got Omega-3 asshole, around the time my meds were starting to kick in.

I don't think my roommate liked me because I shit and fart a lot. I'd talk to him and he'd just ignore me. That was fine, I didn't wanna be trading weird stories at night time. He was pretty quiet except for talking to himself and laughing a lot out of nowhere. Nice guy, I think...

The doctors put me on meloxicam, and by the 5th day my body almost completely stopped hurting. They put me on some other stuff as well, and food started to taste like food again. Day 4 is when I started ordering "weird" stuff... beef strogonoff, chicken caserole, and I actually enjoyed it. I wouldn't have touched those if I wasn't on drugs.

Also started working on a parody of the Cheers theme song, wrote some bits, made the atmosphere a little bit lighter for the other people being repaired around me. The nurse took my vitals one day and I said "Is it room temperature like my IQ?" Took me a few days to realize I was there to get better, not to become R.P. McMurphy. Being that I was feeling better I began participating in the groups a lot, embraced it. I was grateful that I wasn't speaking to or laughing because of a voice no one but me could hear. My friend Fallon asked me "Are you a free man?!" this morning and it made me think about freedom. "As free as anyone." It sucks to have no control over anything.

I was locked in a nuthouse but I still tried out some color theory stuff with crayons. I like how they pushed us to express ourselves. Cool that I didn't make the guy hanging from the tree. He's just pensive. Progress.

I went in complaining of scrotal pain and an enlarged prostate and ended up in a psyche ward. Gross but due to my arthritis meds I get cysts that turn into abcesses when they get too big. Backtracking to the 2010's, First one I ever had got to be the size of a skittle and then exploded to the size of my fist. Emergency surgery with no anesthesia. The second one was the size of a peanut M&M, exploded before I had surgery scheduled and I sat in agony for days, and it was stuffed with a thumb thick hunk of gauze. My 2026 scrotum is a roadmap of scars, if you're looking at it we're probably in the Ghost Hawk bathroom. Hellish stuff. Hey on the bright side, they were "masses" but not tumors.

Eventually Friday morning I went to get breakfast and just puked everywhere like the Exorcist because my balls hurt and I felt like nobody gave a shit, and that wasn't a place where I wanted to get sepsis and die. I was bleeding all over a white towel, so I went out there and wiped blood and the white shit that bursts out of MRSA all over the plexiglass window that protects the staff from our antics. An orderly approached me and I became disorderly, "You have to put those away."

Are you seeing and hearing anything that we're not seeing and hearing? Yeah, my fuckin calls for a urologist.

And so on the 5th day, Friday night at 10 PM an ambulance company whisked me to the hospital...
