"Cracked Up" (and other unreleased Songs About Your "Girlfriend")

So we tracked out a few songs, here's two cuts from the early sessions.

Cracked Up... I'm not a fan of being right, because usually when I'm right something is immensely wrong. My third eye is wide open. Stupidly I was ignoring a lot of red flags. No more.

This is one of the songs that didn't make the album. We felt it was the weakest one, even though the chorus is so blunt "Cut off your nose to spite your face, is it hard to do cocaine? You're not all you're cracked up to be." Crack is wack, babies.

Why Don't They Let Us Fall In Love? is a song originally by Ronnie Spector. I love female singers. Maybe some day I'll be one.

While I'm alone in the studio tracking out vocals, my phone rings and it's my favorite person in the universe, and they're crying. I reassured them. Strange how the universe works like that.

We tracked out drums for 3 covers, the aforementioned Ronettes cover, plus If You Seek Amy by Britney Spears and These Boots Are Made For Walkin' by Nancy Sinatra. I doubt Britney Spears will ever see the light of day, but never say never.

In conclusion, below is the raw shot that ended up being used and abused as the cover artwork for "Tell Me You're Safe".... that wasn't the phone that my friend called me on. Too bad it didn't ring while this photoshoot was happening.
